Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Our Savannah condo is available beginning in May 2023. We are seeking exchanges in Europe: Ireland, Italy, the UK, France, others, and within the United States.

Our elegant, two bedroom condo in the heart of historic Savannah, Georgia is convenient and very comfortable for three to four people. A recently-renovated kitchen and two full bathrooms (both with showers, one with a jacuzzi tub) add to the feeling of being in a warm, relaxing home. Part of an architecturally-significant neighborhood, each unit has a private garage parking space, elevator, and secure keypad entry. One floor, first -floor living is a plus as is your ability to relax in a spacious (1350+ square foot) space. Enjoy high ceilings, elegant dining and living areas and tasteful artwork. Our elevator is steps from your private parking space and is semi-private, used by only two of our neighbors. Take advantage of being steps from several historic green squares, most with Spanish moss-draped 'live oak' trees and sculpture, along with beautiful 18th/19th century houses, many open to the public. Enjoy private accommodations that are close to restaurants, shops, activities, historic homes and historical attractions. Leave the car and walk! Or, see the city via horse-drawn carriage or trolley. Note: Interior photos will be added shortly.

Downtown Savannah, known for its historic buildings, boutique shopping experiences and foodie restaurants, is only 20 minutes from the Savannah/Hilton Head airport. Visit locations highlighted in the best-selling ‘Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil’. The Jepson/Telfair Art Museum and the SCAD Museum of Art, and countless studios and boutiques, showcase a constantly-changing world for art lovers.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Sitting on our lovely porch looking out

a the flowers, fountain, and trees in our
gated courtyard provides a relaxing
respite from your walks to the see what
this beautiful city has to offer, especially over lunch or a glass of wine. Jones Street has been noted as "The Most Beautiful Street in America". When you choose to see the city sights, a walk will bring you to charming, tree-shaded squares, an endless choice of restaurants, and city highlights such as the Maritime Museum, the Railroad Museum, Telfair/Jepson and SCAD Museums, historic house tours, Forsyth Park. Fairs, Events and exhibits can be enjoyed every month of the year -- Music Festival, Book Festival, Food and Wine Festival, Savannah Tour of Homes & Gardens to name a few. For a change of pace, walk or ride a 'pedi-cab' to the Riverfront. River Street, with its cobbled walkways, Paddle-Wheel Riverboat excursions, and historic buildings, was once home to the Cotton Trade Center of Georgia with historic buildings and and lots of charm. The new part of River Street features more than a dozen restaurants (several rooftop offerings overlooking the river), art installations, exhibits and spectacular views of the Savannah River. There's a reason for the saying, "There are
two kinds of people -- those who live in Savannah and those who wish they did!"
Exchange periods are May 1st through January 1st.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

During your stay you'll be able to sample an endless array of restaurants and cafes, both upscale and moderate-low priced.
We've listed several of our favorites that are within walking distance. Nationally-famous Leopold's Ice Cream shop is also close-by. "City Market" is a few blocks away and offers shopping, restaurants, music, and, of course, a late-night dessert ranging from hand-made southern candies to gelato to cupcakes from specialty shops! An easy 20-minute drive brings you to the beaches and sights of Tybee Island with its beautiful, pristine beach. Two truly do-not-miss southern eating experiences are the famous Paula Deen's Restaurant (downtown) and The Crab Shack Restaurant, with its family of alligators (on the road to Tybee Island). New to the city are several additional upscale restaurants: Husk, The Grey, La Scala and Common Thread, several with
award-winning chefs.
