We love to go sightseeing and trying new foods and activities. We have two grown children and 4 grandchildren. We love trading in Spring and Fall, summer is hot for exchanges if you are an avid outdoor person but fine for indoor activities. Our aging bones don't take well to cold so we mainly stay in AZ during the winter, but occasionally for the right trade will venture out. We love meeting new home exchange friends and learning about other cultures.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Located 40 miles east of Phoenix this home makes a great base camp for exploring all of Arizona. It is less than 2 hours to Sedona, Flagstaff, Payson, Tucson, and Mexico. It is only 4 1/2 hours to the Grand Canyon. You will likely find you want to stay right here and enjoy this hidden gem of a valley. This tiny pocket of private land is a small community is nestled in the Eastern foothills of the famed Superstition Mountains and is surrounded by State Trust Land, BLM and Tonto National Forest Lands. There are 106 species of birds within 15 miles so birders will enjoy time spent in the area. The Queen Valley 18-hole golf course is spring fed and beautiful, the historic town friendly and welcoming.
Days are quiet and the views are stunning; nights are radiant with stars and visiting wildlife. We have a library of books on birds and the history of Arizona. Carol is the author of a local history book on the area. Arizona winters and summers have equal opportunities for exploring AZ

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our town has around 1,500 residents in the winter and it drops to around 300 in the summer when our winter visitors leave. The summers are hot and the town remote but the peace and quiet and amazing views make this a delightful home base for exploring AZ. We have one small grocery market/gas station and the nearest major market is 12 miles away. The restaurant is open in the winter but only sporadically in the summer. Other nearby restaurants are open year around. We are an easy drive to Phoenix, Scottsdale and many other metropolitan cities for museums, clubs, dining and music venues, microbreweries but offer peace and quiet once you get back to our home as your base for exploring. Neighbors are friendly and we have a friend on-call to show you around the home and town if you wish.
