Hi, I'm a consultant to foundations and nonprofits in the areas of community development and environment. I just brought my son to college so am excited to wander again a bit! I especially enjoy biking, swimming, hiking and being in nature whenever possible, though I love to explore other cities, too. You can count on me to be neat, quiet and clean and to spend most of my vacation outside taking in the sites. Looking forward to exchange with you!

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Like many folks, I've been working at home and I'm eager to change the scenery for a bit. I'm open to exchanges over weekends, weeks or even month(s)-long. My lovely comfortable, clean and cozy apartment is in beautiful Park Slope, Brooklyn. It is very near several subway lines into Manhattan (30 minute ride), steps away from wonderful restaurants and easy walking distance to Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Academy of Music and other Brooklyn treasures. The apartment has a modern kitchen, 2 sunny bedrooms, a small office and sunshine coming in kitchen and bathroom open-able skylights. We have a table under our solar canopy on the roof with great views of the NYC skyline. Please note that the apartment is on the 4th floor of a walk-up. Our safe and fun neighborhood has its own great restaurants, music spots and shopping - even now with lots of outdoor seating and open, pedestrian streets. It is not unusual to come across people playing music or hosting a sale on their stoop. Staying in Park Slope is a great way to visit NYC without being in the middle of noisier neighborhoods. The apartment and neighborhood are child friendly.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Park Slope, Brooklyn is a leafy, brownstone neighborhood about 30 minute subway ride to Manhattan (which you can see from our roof). The neighborhood offers a welcome respite from the noise and traffic of Manhattan but is still close to all that Manhattan has to offer.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Park Slope is full of delicious restaurants and lovely boutiques for shopping. Our home is easy walking distance from beautiful Prospect Park, Brooklyn Botanic Garden and Zoo, the Brooklyn Museum, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Every Saturday is the wonderful Green Market at Grand Army Plaza and Sunday at JJ Byrne park, nearby. The neighborhood is well-served by many subways going into Manhattan as well as Coney Island and other Brooklyn sites. I like riding my bike to Brighton Beach or even Riis or over the Brooklyn Bridge on the new bike lane to Manhattan. There are Citibikes available on both sides of our block for day trips.
