Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live 6 miles from the center of town. There are backroads to town that you can bike on. All the lots are 5 acres and many have mountain views. There is only the traffic from the 15 homes here, so it is very peaceful. Neighbors are friendly and many walk the neighborhood each day.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We are close to mountain bike trails and there are many rolling hills to road ride on near us with little traffic. There are endless hikes and lakes past Mt Bachelor. The Deschutes, Crooked and Tumalo Rivers provide excellent fly-fishing. Smith Rock State Park is internationally known for rock climbing and there is a challenging and rewarding hiking trail up and over the rocks. The Old Mill District is full of classy shops and restaurants and you can take the river walk loop 5 miles into nature and waterfalls. You can also launch your kayak there. We have 30 breweries and many chef-owned restaurants. People love to walk the downtown shops, bars, galleries, and theatres, especially on the First Friday Art walk where wine, snacks and music is free all over. There is music somewhere almost nightly with much of it free and family friendly. Streets are closed often for festivals.
