We really enjoyed staying in the house of Jean and David & daughters. A comfortable, well equipped and pleasant house. Winchester is a very nice old city and easy to reach by public transport. In the region you can take several beautiful (long) walks. The contact with David and Jean was very pleasant, we could ask anything and they responded fast. We can really recommend a swap! Thanks Jean and David for your hospitality.

Ideal for walks on the South Downs or along the rivers Itchen or Test, or the coast. London, the New Forest, Stonehenge, Portsmouth, Roman Bath, and Oxford, are all possible day trips.

Our home is on a quiet residential street on the edge of Winchester over looking the city and the River Itchen. There are a number of country walks from the house such as the Butterfly Reserve, or the Water Meadows, West Wood and Farley Mount are only a short drive away.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

The centre of Winchester is a 30 minute walk away or ten minutes by bus. Winchester is a popular tourist attraction with its pedestrianised streets, markets, and historic buildings including: Winchester Cathedral; Wolvesey Castle (ruin); The Great Hall; Westgate Museum; Winchester City Museum; Winchester Mill; and Winchester Military Museums.

It is ideally located for day trips to: Stockbridge; Arlesford; Salisbury; Stonehenge; Southampton; Portsmouth; Bournemouth; and London.

There are a number of country walks on our doorstep such as the Butterfly Sanctuary and Silkstead, or the Nature Reserves of West Wood and Farley Mount are only a short drive away. All routes are suitable for cycling. The coast is 30 minutes away by car.
