Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our house is situated on a small working farm, with 20 Jersey cows, free range chickens and 2 friendly donkeys. The farmhouse is the biggest of 7 old houses situated on a pretty small country estate with an ice cream parlour and restaurant in the farm yard.
The 360 acre estate has many beautiful walks surrounded by the rolling hills of the Tyne Valley.

The best local attraction is our very own ‘Wheelbirks Parlour’ just a few minutes walk from the house.
Local historic villages of Blanchland and Corbridge are among the very best in Northumberland.
Newcastle upon Tyne is a vibrant city, the quayside being a particularly special place to visit.
The Northumberland coast is absolutely stunning as well as being blissfully quiet.
Holy Island is unique and very much worth a visit.
Historic Hadrian’s wall is probably the most famous of all the attractions in Northumberland and for good reason.
Sycamores gap is our favourite spot to walk to on the wall.

We are proud of our clean, stylish and tidy farmhouse and expect visitors to respect and care for our home, just as we will to theirs.
We are happy for the house to be cleaned by a local lady (as it normally is weekly) following your visit so there is no need to clean at the end of your stay.
