We are a very active retired couple (pilot/teacher) . Our family and all grandchildren live in Australia in the Melbourne area so we visit often mostly in our winter. We are active members of our local U3A where we run a wine tasting group. We do a lot of gardening, hiking, swimming and ballroom dancing. We love to eat out in local restaurants/pubs and go to the theatre and concerts both locally and in London. We also travel a lot so we can offer non simultaneous exchange.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Well equipped house, with a beautiful garden on the edge of Steyning village. It is spacious and comfortable with several lounge areas. Built in the 1950s the house has fabulous views over the countryside to the South Downs. There is a summer house and outdoor eating areas and, depending on the time of the year, soft fruit to pick in the veggie garden.

It is a very quiet rural location with delightful neighbours nearby. We are in the National Park and near to the South Downs Way. Steyning village provides most shopping needs and there are large supermarkets a short distance away. Steyning Is best known for its quaint high street and historic buildings, the school dates back to 1614. It has a lively community with lots of cultural and sporting activities throughout the year.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
There’s so much to do near here, theatre music culture in Brighton, Chichester, Glyndebourne. Shopping in Brighton, Chichester and Horsham. Days out to Arundel Castle, Petworth House, Portsmouth and so many others. Sporting venues at Goodwood, Cowdray Park and many major football and rugby grounds nearby.
The pier, esplanade and sea front in Brighton is a great attraction for all the family.
Pubs and restaurants are plentiful and full of character.
We are in the National Park and near to the South Downs Way. It is possible to do extensive walks direct from the house.

We have a lovely home and expect it to be cared for as we do and as we would care for the houses we visit. We have a gardener who comes in once a week but we may need a bit of watering of pots as well. We also have a cleaner one morning a week who would be glad to come in.
