Lorna is a director and co-owner of a tourism consultancy (see https://bluesail.com/). David is mainly retired but does some occasional back office work as required. We have three children (all girls) who all live independently elsewhere.
Lorna practices (Iyengar) yoga and David does Tai Chi. Both love independent cinema, read widely and enjoy walking - David does multi-day trekking and mountain walking.
We're careful and respectful of other people and their property. We've not done recent house exchanges but have done 2 in the past to USA - Portland, Maine and Upper New York State.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our apartment is minimal in style but comfortable with all facilities. The main bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom has twin single beds. The guest bathroom has a bath with shower over. Neighbours are older in age and very friendly. There is a full-time caretaker on hand who is very helpful.
We are around 20 mins walk (or a short taxi ride) from the rail station and 15 mins walk from the town centre (via a delightful bridge and park). A sports centre with gym and swimming pool is even nearer. A theatre is nearby. You can stay here comfortably without a car although there is easy on-site parking if you bring one. Shrewsbury itself is one of England's finest historic towns and the home town of Charles Darwin!

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We're a few minutes walk from the River Severn with its riverside walks and pubs and restaurants. On the other side of a lovely footbridge over the river, canoes can be hired and various activities take place over the summer months including the famous Shrewsbury Flower Show. Theatre Severn is minutes away along the river and the Old Market Hall cinema has a full programme of films. The town museum is nearby and there are lots of excellent locally owned and run cafes and restaurants as well as the usual national chains. Local shops are excellent with Shrewsbury claiming the street with the most independent shops in Britain. Details of our 'top' recommendations will be in a folder awaiting your arrival, or by email in advance if you prefer - just tell us your interests.
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
