We`re a professional couple based in London -- an artist-educator and an academic. Our teenage daughter has a profound knowledge of film, music & fashion, which is reflected in her bedroom design!
We have a cat who can stay in the flat if you like furry friends. Otherwise he can stay in the friendly cat hotel nearby.
We are new to home swapping, but can direct you to reviews of our flat and ourselves as hosts on Airbnb. We`re keen travellers and love to really immerse ourselves in our destinations. We know that we will love home swapping.
Between 10-19 August our mother will be joining us. We`re looking to drive over to France and stay in Normandie or the Loire Valley.
Our travels between 23-30 August have not yet been confirmed, so we`re open to ideas with a preference for staying in the UK.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The flat is on a quiet, tree lined street in a vibrant neighbourhood with boutique cafes, restaurants, shops and pubs. We are a short bus ride away from Islington's premiere shopping and eating boulevard, Upper Street on one side, and the plush quiet greenery of Highgate and Hampstead on the other. The trendy North London neighbourhood of Crouch End is also a short bus ride away.
We are very close to a number of beautiful green spaces for which London is rightly famous. There are some lovely quiet gardens with children's playground and basketball court (ideal for families) a short 5 minutes walk away on Manor Gardens itself, while Finsbury Park (ideal for runners or even for a stroll) is a 20 min walk in one direction and Tufnell park (with tennis courts) 20 mins walk in the other direction!
Sainsburys Local and other mini markets can be found just around the corner on Holloway Road while there is also a large Waitrose (slightly more up-market) a 7-10 mins walk away. The famous Nags Head market is just round the corner on Seven Sisters Road for your fresh fruit and veg, fishmongers, as well as a variety of ethnic food.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Benefits from excellent transport options by bus, tube and train with Finsbury Park (Piccadilly and Victoria lines), Holloway Road (Piccadily line) and Upper Holloway (Overground) only minutes walk away. There are several bus routes that take you to the heart of Central London within half an hour.
If you're coming from Heathrow, hop on to the Piccadilly line and get off at Holloway Road. From there it's a 15 minute stroll or a 5 min bus ride. Alternatively, we can book a taxi for you. (£30 to/from Heathrow, £50 to/from Stansted).
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
It is important for us to find our home clean and tidy when we return and we will do the same with yours.
A cat lives in this property. We take him to the Cattery and get the flat professionally cleaned ahead of guest arrival, but it is inevitable that a few stray cat hairs may be left behind.
Please look after our home with the same love and care as you would your own. We kindly ask that you do not wear outdoor shoes in the flat: these can be left outside in the secure hallway. We also ask that you turn off all lights and electrical appliances every time you leave the flat, and do not leave any candles unattended. There is a fire extinguisher under the kitchen sink in the unlikely event that you will need it.
Please keep an eye on children, especially around the TV, DVD and stereo, and precious items.
The flat is not suitable for parties as it is in a quiet, family-friendly complex.
When you leave, please leave the flat as you found it and drop the keys off in the grey letterbox of flat 13 downstairs.
