We had an unforgettable stay in Mary and Bob’s house. A comfortable kitchen and living room and a good bed, and a glass room to relax after a busy day. The neighbourhood is very quiet, but it is only a ten minute walk (over a footbridge) to the bus stop, where buses bring you in about 30 minutes straight to the city centre and to the big museums around Kelvingrove. The museums in Glasgow are among the best we’ve ever seen, and you it is a great walk through parks to get to the Burrell Collection. In fact, we walked a lot (think about the Kelvin Way…). The Battlefield Rest nearby is an Italian restaurant you’re not likely to forget! But our best memories of our stay are Mary and Bob’s helpfulness: they have answered to all our questions!

We recently spent a great week in Mary and Robert's beautiful house. They made us feel very welcome and couldn't have been more helpful to us in planning our week. The house is great, with a lovely garden and a very comfortable sun room at the back which was perfect for relaxing after a day of sightseeing. The house is in a very quiet residential area, but with access to lots of great restaurants, cafes and parks. There is a very convenient bus close by which goes to the centre of town and to the University area. Glasgow itself was great: people very friendly and lots to see and do. We'd strongly recommend. Thanks so much to Mary and Robert.

We live in a bright, warm, comfortable Edwardian home (built 1905). It still has many original features but we've modernised it over the years. [ See photos]. Downstairs : sitting-room, dining room, kitchen, toilet. Relaxing sunroom overlooking rear garden. Upstairs : 2 double bedrooms - one with super-king/twin beds; one with king-size bed; study; Bathroom with bath and separate shower. Small sunny gardens at front and rear.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Ours is a friendly street in a quiet suburb, with very good transport links to the city. The rail station is a five minute walk away, and it takes just 12 minutes to get to Glasgow Central. The bus stop is about four minutes from the door with regular buses to the city centre, West End and Glasgow University. We're also well-placed for the motorways out of the city, and just 25 minutes from Glasgow Airport. We are within a few minutes' walk of neighbourhood shops, pharmacy, bank and restaurants. There are four supermarkets within five minutes' drive.
