Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Modern family house in quiet cul-de-sac in Dunblane, a small town (8,000) in central Scotland. It is very close (5 minutes) to the ancient city of Stirling, with its magnificent castle, and only one hour from either Edinburgh or Glasgow, with very good road and excellent train links. Mountains and forests are easily accessible as well.
3 double bedrooms (2 en suite) and 2 single bedrooms, with an additional single sofa bed if required. Large living room with wood-burning stove, dining room and conservatory. Kitchen/diner opens out on to decking and a small secluded garden. Full-size table tennis table, bicycles and kayaks available for use, along with lots of books, games and music.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our house is in a quiet cul-de sac, but close to the centre of this small town (8,000 population), with good paths through to the cathedral, high street, station, pubs and cafes. There is a wide selection of shops, including three supermarkets and 2 local excellent butchers, as well as banks, a post office and a Health centre. Riverside walks take you out in to the country and to nearby villages and towns. Dunblane is an old settlement, but on an excellent transport route (train and car) to other places nearby. Close to us is a large hotel, with its own gym, sauna and swimming pool, whilst the tennis and golf club are within walking distance as well. Our immediate neighbours have been really helpful to previous home exchangers.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Stirling castle is five mins away - the BEST castle in Scotland! Doune castle is also nearby. Frequent trains will get you to Edinburgh or Glasgow (1 hour), with theatres, museums, shopping, castles, etc. Local distilleries and mountains, lochs and rivers, national parks, so great walking and kayaking. Dunblane has its own cathedral and Sherrifmuir is the site of the famous battle of the 1715 Jacobite rebellion. Dunblane has its own tennis club (Andy Murray comes from Dunblane!), and golf club, and kayaking is allowed on all rivers and lochs (we have 3 kayaks you can use). Fishing and riding can also be done locally.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
No smokers, but otherwise, we are pretty relaxed. Our three children have all grown up and left, so there are few toys for young children, but we do have a full-size table-tennis table in the garage and lots of games. The house plants and grass in the garden will need a little attention should it become really hot while you are there. We have an old Saab estate with automatic gears and satnav, and a VW Polo (manual gears) we would be happy to let you use, insurance and other aspects having been sorted first.
