Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
We are offering our lovely bright 2/3 bedroomed home in South West of England in exchange for accommodation, suitable for two adults, in Adelaide, South Australia.
Our home is located in Bridgwater; the gateway to the South West. Ideal for visiting the UK and or exploring it’s varied coastline.
This area has everything for a great holiday with picturesque countryside, beautiful coastal beaches, nature reserves, public gardens and historic National Trust properties.
The house is located within walking distance of a historic market town with its maritime tradition, Green Flag canal and waterfront setting, cafes, bars and traditional pubs.
It has good local amenities, swimming pool, shops, arts centre, theatre, sports facilities, motorway, train and bus station.
The property is close to both town, local shops, countryside and famous Cathedral cities such as Bristol, Bath and Wells. It has excellent road and rail links to these. All of which have their famous bustling Christmas Markets. Cricket and horse racing are held close by in Taunton.
The Mendips, Cheddar Gorge, and the Quantock Hills are all designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and within a short drive. The famous Somerset Levels and Moors are teaming with wildlife and numerous species of birds. Walking, cycling and boating on the picturesque Taunton to Bridgwater Canal.
There are seaside towns, steam railways, castles, country houses, motor and shoe museums, safari parks and retail shopping outlets.
The South West has some of the largest curated collections in the UK including Concorde exhibition, Fleet Air Arm, Fashion Museum in Bath, Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury, American Museum in Bath to name a few.
Activities and Events include the Somerset Guy Fawkes Winter Carnival with over two miles of incredible floats and lasting over two hours. Many towns host this Carnival.
The famous Bath Thermal Spa, historic Dunster by candlelight, Roman Baths in Bath, Bristol’s Avon Gorge, Clifton Suspension Bridge and Bristol historic Harbourside.
