Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home "Craignethan" is a large house of local stone, built in the 1890's for the Factor of Brechin Castle. The house retains many of its original Period features including ornate fireplaces, wood paneling etc. It is a comfortably furnished family home with large gardens. The house is centrally heated throughout, with the addition of coal/gas fires for those cooler days, however the East Coast of Scotland enjoys much of Scotland's finest weather. Bedrooms - sleep eight in four double bedrooms, all overlooking the gardens. Two rooms have king-size beds, the remaining two have a mix of single beds, Family Bathroom, Shower Room.On the ground floor you will find the Drawing Room, Sitting Room, Dining Room( all large comfortable rooms overlooking the gardens complete with period fireplaces), Small Study, Office, Breakfast Room, Kitchen, . The kitchen is compact but well equipped and in the cellar there is additional chilled/frozen refrigeration and general storage.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Brechin stands on the South Esk River in Angus, within fifteen minutes drive of the sea and sandy beaches eastwards or alternatively fifteen minutes drive northwards to the Angus Glens and the foothills of the Grampian Mountains. For many this is the true Scotland, heather clad hills, castles, unspoilt beaches, clear mountain streams and rivers, abundant wildlife, clean fresh air and traditional Scottish hospitality.
In addition there are good road, bus and rail networks to Edinburgh, St.Andrews, Dundee, Perth, Aberdeen and Glasgow. However to gain full advantage of this beautiful part of Scotland a car is your best option.
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
This will be our 19th Home Exchage. We are interested in Canada, Norway, Europe, South America and UK for periods of 3 weeks or more. We are able to offer a non simultaneous exchange.
As always, it is vitally important to us that all exchange agreements are based upon both parties taking the utmost care and respect of each others home, contents and personal privacy.
