Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

1 bedroom Victorian terraced cottage. Tastefully decorated home which sleeps 3, fully equipped kitchen, living/dining room, bathroom with shower and bath, laundry facilities, small back yard, Internet access, radio/CD player, no T.V., piano.

Very quiet, residential street within walking distance of the town centre. Direct train services to London (1 hr. 20 mins), 45 mins. from Gatwick Airport, 45 mins. to Portsmouth Harbour where there are frequent ferry services to France and Spain, bus services to local towns, 20 mins. to Channel beaches, 10 miles from the Cathedral City of Chichester and 20 miles from Brighton.

Arundel is known as the jewel in the crown of West Sussex. This historic, picturesque town (pop.3,000) has many attractions: a Castle dating back to medieval times, a Roman Catholic Cathedral, a C14th Anglican Church, the River Arun running through the town, the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, wonderful country walks, a boating lake, leisure facilities including tennis, golf, putting, bowls, swimming,local theatre. There are a number of pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. There are art galleries, antique shops, specialty shops, a bookstore, as well as places to buy local produce: meat, fish, vegetables, cheese and wine. There is horseracing at Goodwood and Fontwell, Roman Villas nearby at Bignor and Fishbourne and hiking along the South Downs in the National Park.

My house is in a quiet, dead end street. It is a short walk into town with easy access to short and long walks. There is no designated parking in my street but there is plenty of parking a short walk away near the Cathedral.

There is a castle with beautiful gardens to explore, a Roman Catholic Cathedral and a C13th Anglican Church. The Wildlife and Wetlands Trust has a Centre here and there are wonderful short and long distance walks to be enjoyed.
