Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our 1890's Victorian home was completely renovated in 2014. We have a private, in-ground pool for playing or swimming laps. We live in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood in Uptown New Orleans, three blocks from the historic St. Charles Streetcar and a short walk to Audubon Park, golf, zoo, shops, and restaurants. The third bedroom is currently used as a study, with computer and TV, but arrangements can be made for someone to sleep there.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in the Black Pearl neighborhood, which is quiet, safe, and peaceful. Because we are located in the "Uptown Triangle" formed by St. Charles Avenue, Audubon Park, and the Mississippi River, there is very little through traffic on our streets. You could sit on the front porch for an hour or longer without a car driving by. Within walking distance are shops and restaurants on Maple Street, a paved 22 mile long bicycle and jogging track along the Mississippi River, The Audubon Park, Golf Course, and Zoo, and the historic St. Charles Streetcar which takes you downtown to the French Quarter and to the New Orleans Museum of Art and City Park in Mid City. Lake Pontchartrain is ten minutes away.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Within walking distance from our house are the Audubon Zoo (one of the top zoos in the US), and Audubon Park with its walking and cycling path and beautiful golf course. You can walk or ride your bike to the paved trail that runs for 22 miles along the Mississippi River levee. Maple Street is just five blocks away and is lined with shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants. The oldest continuously operating streetcar in the world is three blocks from our house, and will take you to the French Quarter, the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Garden District, and so on. You can drive to the Gulf beaches in less than an hour.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We are both excellent housekeepers and will take very good care of your home; we ask the same of our exchange partners. No smoking indoors, and please keep the wood floors dry when coming in from swimming. We have one small indoor cat who has never scratched anyone in her life! She is very shy and just needs to be fed and to have her litter scooped.
