Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

I am interested in an exchange to any US city, not rural, preferably with no car needed.

My home comfortably fits 2 people with all the modern comforts, however, there is no TV. It's fully air-conditioned and has a strong Internet signal. There is one bedroom available with a queen bed and en suite bath. The living/kitchen area is spacious. Both front and back porch have seating and there is a laundry room. Also, there is a small flower and herb garden. From the front porch, you can see the ships going up and down the Mississippi River.

My house is in the heart of one of New Orleans' most historic neighborhoods: Irish Channel. This is one of the many neighborhoods within the Garden District, a four-mile stretch of historic homes between the Mississippi River and St. Charles Avenue. Located in a quiet, safe, residential neighborhood, the house is just a short 4 block walk from the best shopping district on Magazine Street, and a few more blocks to the historic St. Charles Avenue Streetcar line. Stroll up Magazine St. and you'll find boutique shops, antique stores, galleries, supermarket, neighborhood bars and restaurants, coffee shops, bike rentals, Lafayette Cemetery, outstanding architecture, and history.

The historic French Quarter, 2.5 miles away, and easily reached by bus or streetcar, is one of the most visited locations in the United States. The culture of New Orleans is like no other. Music, Food, Shopping, Museums, and more are everywhere you turn. My ideal exchange would be to a place where a car is not needed.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

There are so many fine restaurants in New Orleans, and you can walk to many of them, including Commander's Palace. Both Uber and Lyft are available to get to the other restaurants for around $10. Most of the museums are 1.5 miles away. The area where I live is very safe. Beautiful Audubon Park is easily reached by the streetcar. With a car day trips include the old South plantations and the Gulf coast.
