We are in our early 60's and love to be active and spend time outdoors in all seasons, whether it is walking, hiking, biking or skiing. We like to cook, read and listen to music and I enjoy doing many kind of hands-on projects and painting. We both love exploring new places...walking through neighborhoods, trying out restaurants and visiting museums, historic sites and other cultural attractions. We live outside of Boston and recently bought a country home in Lyme, New Hampshire where we spend many weekends. Our New Hampshire home is available for exchange all year; our Boston area home is mostly limited to summer months as I still working as a teacher. While we listed a few countries, we are open to traveling to many places!

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
This 1885 farmhouse is nestled in the lovely historic village of Lyme Center. The house is comfortable and with lots of space to relax in and out of doors. Depending on the season and time of day, we might eat in the main living area, on the sun porch or on the back deck. The front and side porches are also lovely for reading or enjoying a nap in the swing. The backyard has a pizza oven, plenty of space for games, and a lovely wading brook with a deck overlooking it.
While many people come to enjoy outdoor activities in a beautiful setting, there are also many interesting villages to explore with flea markets, restaurants, museums and more. The beautiful campus of Dartmouth College is in the nearby town of Hanover and offers many cultural activities typical of a college town.
Our primary residence is in the historic town of Lexington, Massachusetts, just outside of Boston. We would be open to including that in an exchange as well so you would be able to enjoy both the wonderful city of Boston and the country two hours north.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
The Appalachian Trail and the Dartmouth Skiway are both one mile from our home, as well as many other walking, hiking, biking and ski trails. There is a town pond that is great for swimming, boating and skating in the winter, and the Connecticut River is a popular place to kayak/canoe. The town of Hanover is 15 minutes away and has many shops and restaurants. It is also home to Dartmouth College, with its beautiful campus, the Hood art museum and other cultural and athletic events. Other nearby attractions are the Montshire Children's Museum, King Arthur café, bakery and store and Simon Pearce glassblowing studio. The nearby town of Fairlee has a couple of antique markets. White River Junction has with some funky shops and a variety of restaurants.
