The house is in a fantastic location, being a few minutes cycle from a huge forested park, and also from the nearest swimming pool and water park. At the same time we were only a very short tram ride from Karlsruhe city centre. There are so many attractions to visit within an hour or so - Speyer Technic Park with all its airplanes, Europa Park which very much gives Disneyland a real run for its money, historic cities and the black forest also. Within the city is a great zoo, with a very kid friendly boat ride, a palace which has an amazing light show on summer nights in August and so many great indoor and outdoor water parks. We had a fantastic time and would love to go back some day. This was our first home exchange, so we were a little apprehensive but our contact with Ricarda before the swap was very informative and helpful. We were also due to travel in both 2020 and 2021, but restrictions meant we couldn't. We are so glad that we finally got to exchange, Ricarda and Merlin had the place set up really well for us and her son met us with the keys. All the neighbors were also very friendly. All in all it was a fantastic experience and we are already looking forward to our next exchange.
