We are a Czech-American family and we live in Prague. We have 3 boys, 20, 16 and 14, not all of our children always travel with us. I work for an American university in Prague and my husband is a journalist. We have done one exchange with a family in the US but it was a long time ago (all went very well and the reference can be provided if necessary).

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We live in a large, specious apartment in a charming villa built in 1923 near the centre of Prague. The apartment is huge with high ceilings any many historic details that we never stopped admiring. Even though it is located in the centre of the city, it´s very very quiet and relaxing location. You wake up to the sound of birds in the morning. There are many fantastic cafes nearby, as well as shops with groceries and all you need. You can walk to the city centre in about 20 minutes or you can take a local public transportation which is very near the house and easy and cheap to use. The house is surrounded by a garden which is not available for the exchange, however, but it provides very peaceful and quiet surroudings to the house, even though it is in the middle of a city.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The neighbourhood of Vinohrady is one of the most desired location of Prague. Many foreigners living permanently in Prague live here, so you often here various foreign languages when walking around. It´s so popular because it´s full of gorgeous architecture, it´s packed with great cafes and restaurants and there are many lovely parks around. The city centre is about a 25 minute walk or 15 minutes by public transportation. We love being away from the hustle of the city centre but near enough to be able to admire the medieval beauty of our city.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our home it´s a short walk to many lovely cafes, a square with a farmers market and parks with amazing views of Prague. Prague´s historic centre is listed as a UNESCO heritage site, there´s a lovely ZOO (4th best in the world), lots of art museums, playgrounds, aqua parks, large forests and parks with hiking and biking trails. But mainly endless walks down cobbled streets with house which are hundreds of years old.
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We would like our guests to treat our house like their own, keep in tidy after they leave and not to be loud at night.
