Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our house is a small farm. The buildings were moved from the village of Strynø during the land reforms of the nineteenth century. The previous owners renovated it during the 1950's And we started over in 2004 when we bought it. As you enter the house you will enter the combined living room and kitchen. From this room you have access to two bedrooms belonging to our teenagers, one has a small double bed (140cmx200), the garden, the scullery and upstairs. Through the scullery you find our main bathroom including a small bathtub, an extra toilet and access to the old stable and the garden. Upstairs you find a common room from which you have a great view of the northern part of the island and the sea. Upstairs you will also find two smaller bedrooms both have small double beds, that turn into a single bed. This is also where you find the master bedroom with walk-in closet and a bathroom.
The house is located on the northern part of Strynø island on a plot of 7,6ha roughly 18 acres. The House, garden, stables and machine parking areas takes up 1-2 acres. There is one acre of apple tree, one acre of strawberries and the remaining land is grass used for grassing. In the garden you will find a terasse close to the house. by the terasse there is a raised bed of spices and herbs. Feel free to use them. There is a place for a bonfire and several different berry bushes and fruit trees. Behind the stables is a wooded area, perfect for climbing trees and playing. The village with shop, pub and restaurant is about 1,5km from the house. Bathing wtih small children is possible about 800m east or west of the house depending of the wind. Sea level is about 60cm or 2' for about 20-50m from the shore. Bathing for adults or bigger children is by the harbor, 2km form the house. Close to the harbor you will also find the Smakkecenter. We also own a small sailing boat a comet 770 which can be included in the exchange.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
If you go to Strynø, you will experience first-hand the only small island in the Archipelago that has successfully kept an island community numbering both adults and children. Strynø still has a school for grades 0-4. And there are both a nursery and a kindergarten. At the same time you will also find homes for the elderly and home care there. So it is still appealing to move to Strynø. Strynø has about 200 residents today and is one of the most densely populated islands in Denmark. On Strynø we see island life in its prime. The island offers lots of association activities and events all year round. And togetherness and a place to be who you are.
The Smakkecenter is highly recommended for visitor, there is a small exhibit about the island and the traditional boat of the area. There is also a boatyard and you can for a very small fee rent equipment for different activities on and around the island. You can also rent sailing dinghies, Kayaks and SUP boards, with and without instruction. The Smakkecenter also arranges seal safaries.
In the village you will find the grocery shop (Købmand), the pub (Kro) and the local brewery/restaurant located in the old dairy.
