We are two retired people who like to travel and discover new places. Although we have been to many places in Europe, there are still places we want to see.
Our home is located in the countryside in a large holiday area close to many sandy beaches and small villages. In our daily life, we spend time volunteering in local associations.
Copenhagen is only an hour's drive away. Roskilde, Kalundborg, Hillerød and Helsingør are other interesting cities on Zealand. It is also easy to get to Aarhus and other places in Jutland by ferry. Most Danes speak English, some also German.

It's a great area to see lots of great beaches, to go cycling, to see pretty little towns and ports, and there are little cafes and restaurants nearby. We say thank you very much and wish Gitte and Frank many more interesting house exchanges.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The house is located in quiet surroundings, only 10 min. walk to the beach and the forest. Many walking and cycling opportunities. The immediate location is ideal to explore the beautiful Danish countryside and attractive local towns and villages.
Our region called Odsherred, is the first Unesco Geopark in Denmark. In 2022 Tour de France etap no 2 - came to our area. So come on and take the hills with your bike.
We have around 160 km of coastline and many good sandy beaches, many different cafes and restaurants, including 2 Michelin gourmet restaurants. Odsherred is also the part of Denmark with the most holiday homes, over 22,000.
The nearest supermarket "Daglig Brugsen" and some restaurants are within 2 km. The two nearest villages are about 5 km away, called Asnaes and Vig. The villages have several supermarkets, gasstations, and some restaurants and shops. We also have two golf courses 7 and 13 km away. It is easy to get around by car or bicycle.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
There are a lot of things to do in our area: You can walk along the beach only 700 m from our home. We have 160 km coastline and 30 beaches in Odsherred. The sand-beaches are very children frendly. You can also walk in the woods with many ancient tombs, and visite the small villages. Take your own bikes with you or we can rent bikes for you.
Take a trip to our highest point Vejrhøj 121 m above sea level and get breathtaking views over the sea and the country. People have lived here since the ice age.
In 2022 we had "Tour de France etap 2" in our area, so take at trip on your bike and see if you can take the hills as the professionals.
We are living in the mittle of the UNESCO Geopark Odsherred https://geoparkodsherred.dk. You will find more about Odsherred here: https://www.visitodsherred.dk
The easiest way to get around is by car, our public transport in the countryside takes too long. Larger cities you can visit on the island of Zeeland could be Kalundborg, Slagelse, Holbæk, Roskilde, Helsingør, Hillerød and of course Copenhagen. All cities can be reached in 1-1.5 hours. You can also take the ferry to Denmark's second largest city, Aarhus in Jutland. It is also a wonderful city. If you want to visit LEGO land and LEGO House, it is 2 hours south from Aarhus.
