We are a young couple (30+) from Bern, Switzerland. We are a psychologist and an economist; but we both decided to study again part-time in the arts. In our freetime we love to go to the mountains (skiing in winter, hiking in summer), to go swimming in the beautiful river in Bern, and we love to travel. We have travelled to many places, from Asia, to the Middle East, to Europe and to the Americas. We would be very happy to provide you with our apartment in Bern and to discover your city/country in return and you can be sure we will treat your home in the best manner possible.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We live in a bright and beautiful 3-room-apartment, 80 sqm, which has:
- bedroom with 160cm bed
- bedroom with 140cm bed
- large and open living room
- semi-open kitchen
- bathroom with a bathtub
- wide and beautiful balcony
The apartment is on the second floor in a five storey building. The building is semi-modern (built roughly in the 1960ies).
The washing machine and the tumble dryer are shared in the basement.
*** We are interested in doing a longer exchange/sabbatical in spring 2024, as we will be staying in Berlin for some months (approximately from March up to one year) ***

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in a lively neighborhood (Breitenrain). You find several restaurants, cafés, a micro brewery, a cinema, various supermarkets and a beautiful park (Rosengarten) within five minutes walking distance. Yet, our building is in a quiet, residential street and is surrounded by trees.
It takes about 15 minutes by foot or 5 minutes by bus to get to the old town and the city center. The river Aare, that flows through Bern, is also a 10 minute walk away. Two public swimming pools, which are all free in Bern, are a 20 minutes walk away.

Bern is a very comfortable medium sized town. In the summer, we recommend all activities along the river. Bern is located in the middle of Switzerland and almost every place in the country is reachable on a day trip.
