We have been a couple for 50 years. We have two children and 7 grandchildren. They all live in Stockholm. We are interested in culture, historical buildings, art, nature and beautiful places. We often have our grandchildren in the house, so there are a lot of toys. Björn loves to play golf. I like to work with my hands. We both read a lot, we like to cook, and take our friends home for dinner. We both take exercise, and are active in many ways. We have made house swap on vacation like this 9 times before. The first one was 26 years ago. The last one was in summer 2019. We think it is fantastic! And one more thing; In Sweden every one speak very well English!

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Our beautiful capital Stockholm is just 1 hour away. There you have everything that a capital can offer. Museums of every kind, and of cource our Royal Castle in the centre of town. And you have not seen Stockholm, if you don´t go to Vaxholm and take a boat tour out into our archipelago!
The biggest Viking grave in Sweden; Anundshög 2 km from our home. Very near Västerås you have Ängsö castle, Strömsholms castle and Tidö castle. Västerås castle, Västerås cathedral from the 1200 century and behind it Old Town from the 1600 century.
Sala is a small town 40 km away, with a silver mine. You can go down in the mine several hundreds of meter, with a guide, who tells you the history of it in English.
In Västerås you can go by boat to the isle of Birka, where we have found the first settle in Sweden! Historical island with a musèum and reconstructed "buildings". The guide speaks English. On the boat tour you pass small beautiful villages, such as Strängnäs. Everywhere you can bring your own pic-nic if you want to. Another small beautiful old town is Mariefred on the south coast of Mälaren.
In Skultuna, just 20 km from Västerås you have a very wellknown brass production, with a shop. You also have outlets near this shop, with glass, ceramics and other things.
Several restaurants and cafèes in the small boat harbour, by the lake Mälaren.
