Danke, Margrit & Res! Liebe Grüße aus Wien, A & N & B.

Read More...This was a great swap ! We had from the beginning a very good contact by mail with Margrit and Andreas and also during the exchange we kept contact and that was very easy if we (or they) had questions about house or other things. Phone is expensive. They had prepared for us a tasty welcome meal, we feld quick at home. The neighbors are friendly and helpful. The house is new, big and practical, when it was hot outside it was always fresh inside. The little garden is nice , with tomatoes, sunflowers, berries.... We had mostly beautiful wheather and we have eaten every day outside on the Terras even when it was raining. Erlinsbach is a very quiet village, with lots of walking pads. We walked several times besides the river Aare and around the Hallwillersee. There are lots of swimming opportunities, beautiful swimming pools, or free in the river Aare. Biking is fine if you stay around the river otherwise you need a good condition to bike up the mountains. We visited the beautiful Lenzburg castle, and the city museum of Aarau. We enjoyed our stay very mutch. It's a beautiful but not touristic region of Switzerland. Margrit and Andreas took good care of our cats, chicken, plants. They like animals, our cats where really relaxed when we came home. They seems not have missed us. The house was perfect okay. Thank you Margrit and Andreas for this very warm exchange and for the opportunity to Learn more about your region ! Peter and Lieve

We had very friendly correspondence since our first contact and discussed many things prior to our exchange. We would particularly like to thank Margrit for taking so much care with Janet’s allergies which we very much appreciated. This is what we would call a true home swap as she tried so hard to accommodate us and make us comfortable. We were able to sit in the small, pretty garden a couple of times. We visited Aarau, the local historic town which has a brilliant Saturday morning food market; also the beautiful Solothurn further away which is not to be missed. We also went to the lake and old towns at Zurich and Lucerne, and had a great day at Interlaken taking both a cruise on one of the two lakes either side of the town, and the funicular up the mountain at Harder Kulm for outstanding views of the town, lakes and mountains. We went to Bad Sackingen in Germany (28 kms) to swim in the thermal baths floating around the outdoor whirlpool in the rain on one occasion, and we also shopped there as food is much cheaper. The village of Erlinsbach does have two small supermarkets. We walked along the lovely River Aare near the village and also at Biberstein where there is a pretty walk, and went swimming in an outdoor natural bio pool also at Biberstein for which we had to be brave as it wasn’t too warm! We also visited a local wild animal park which is really a hillside walk with a café at the top. We went to two castles in the area. The lovely Hallwyl Castle set in a moat with water all around, which has a short walk to a lake with views of the mountains and access to a lake steamer. Also to the gardens of Wildegg Castle. Gareth cycled along the River Aare several times as there is a bike and walking path for several miles. Thank you to Margrit and Res for a very nice exchange despite some rainy days in the second week.
