We are a working couple in our early sixties. Travel is one of our main interest and home exchanges has been our meens of travel for 15 years. Nearly 40 successful exchanges so far.
We usually stay in Sweden in the summer, sailing or spending time in our second home. This allows us to offer our Stockholm home for non simultanious exchanges.
We are always interested in warm places in November and big cities for Christmas and New Year.
We are very interested in taking part of the local community we visit and our guest will experience a neigbourhood in an interesting transformation from gasworks to a model of sustainable urban development

Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
PLEASE NOTE, we only do non simultanious exchanges during the summer. So if you want to come here we would like an offer for a warm place or a major city during the winter.
Modest summer cottage in tranquil setting on the island Orust. Close to ferrys to the small islands Käringön and Gullholmen.
Hiking, boating, swimming and relaxing is on the agenda while staying here.
The house is a typical Swedish summer cottage built in the late 1960:s. Kitted out for eco friendly living.
Compost toilet, out side shower (hot and cold water). Maybe not for everyone but if you like a simple and natural summer life, this is heaven.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Orust is the 4th biggest island in Sweden. Here you can stroll around traditionall fishing communities. You can swim from rocks in glittering seas or in refreshing lakes.
The landscape changes from forest and farmland to fishing villages and car-free islands. Orust is historically characterized by boat construction, agriculture and fishing.
Orust have an active cultural life throughout the year. In the summer it explodes with music, theater and arts experiences around the municipality and you can experience folksongs, rock or jazz in a cozy restaurant on the seafront.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our house it´s 1500 meter to the fishing village Stocken. Here you will find a very nice fish market in one of the old fishing huts. There is bathing facilities. A mini market is on the campsite just outside Stocken. You can also rent kayaks there.
The ferries to Gullholmen and Käringön is easily reached by bike (3000 m).
