Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Large, 2 bed, 2 bath apartment in city centre location inside York's Roman Walls. Master bedroom has 6 ft wide bed, and an ensuite, there a large second bedroom with
a single bed plus a second bathroom, and we are overlooking the River Foss, in the centre of York, right on top of some great cafes, bars, restaurants and independent shops. But it’s still quiet, facing the river and in a private gated development, we hear nothing except the geese and ducks!

York is a beautiful and historic city close to the Yorkshire Moors and the coast. York attracts millions of visitors year round, there's so much to see and enjoy in this very pretty city. York is also a small city best enjoyed on foot, so you don't need a car but if you want
to explore further afield unusually for a city centre apartment we have a secure private parking space within the development.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Our Neighbourhood is very lively and located in the middle of the city centre, but our apartment is in a gated development set
back from the street, overlooking the River Foss, and its a quiet retreat at the end of a busy day sightseeing. You can sit out on our balcony in the evening and watch the swans swim by, it's just lovely!

We are just minutes away from the best shopping, bars, cafes and restaurants in this beautiful and historic city, and everywhere is accessible on foot. There's history, culture, theatre, comedy, music, right on your door step. York has a year round appeal with its many festivals, there are gardens to explore, art galleries and museums to enjoy, afternoon tea at Betty's, and discounted designer clothing shopping at the Outlet centre. And then there's York Race meetings, and York Food Festival and York Restaurant Week, and further afield market towns, like Malton and Helmsley, and the Moors and the coast are just 45 minutes away. York has something for everyone.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

We live a two minute walk from the best bars, cafes and restaurants York has to offer, in what is known as the Foodie Quarter and we are a very short walk to shops, the cinema, galleries, gardens, the Shambles and York Minster. York has a Theatre and an Opera House, the Centre for Early Music is a three minute walk away as is Clifford's Tower, and York is graced by two rivers, one of which the flat sits on. York has a year round festivals programme, why not visit York Races? and there are several museums to visit, including the National Railway Museum, the Jorvik Viking Centre and an out of town shopping Mall and a Designer discounted shopping outlet. The Coast is a 45 minute drive across the Yorkshire Moors to Pickering and Whitby, Harrogate is close by as is Malton, making
this a great place to use as a base to for a longer break. And we have in the past exchanged with guests from places as far away at Canada for a fortnights break.
