Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighbourhood is residential so it tends to be quiet and friendly. It is located in New Malden, which is between Wimbledon and Kingston-upon-Thames, south-west London. There are many amenities nearby, including shops, restaurants, supermarkets and parks. In particular, Richmond Park is a 10-15 minute drive; Kew Gardens about 25 minutes; museums in South Kensington about 35 minutes. There are excellent transport connections: Heathrow is 45 minutes drive (but we don't live under the flight path thankfully!); the nearest train station has trains running direct to central London (20-25 minutes to Waterloo, six per hour); and, easy access to the A3, which takes you to the M25 in 20 minutes and out of London).

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our house, it is a short walk to many cafes, shops, restaurants and parks. Further afield, there are many things to see and do, particularly for families with young children. In south-west London, there is Richmond Park, Kew Gardens, Teddington Lock, Wimbledon Common, and the museums in South Kensington (Natural History Museum, Victoria & Albert Museum, Science Museum, all of which have free entrance). Since our train service runs regularly to central London (Waterloo in 20-25 minutes), there are many more attractions on our doorstep: South Bank, London Eye, Tate Modern, West End theatres, etc....
