I am a retired professional woman living alone. I usually travel alone as well, although sometimes I bring a female friend in which case we would prefer two bedrooms. Very very occasionally I might ask to bring my son and his family, but I would clear this 100% with the host before I made any plans.
I am particularly keen to receive offers from European Cities within easy reach of Bristol airport, for a simultaneous swap for a long weekend.
I would also like to receive offers from places in the UK

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
My home is situated within walking distance of the small town of Nailsea near to Bristol. It is about 20 years old fairly modern and very comfortable. The house faces west and the garden catches the sun nearly all day - so if the sun shines you can enjoy a drink on the patio. The neighbours are friendly and two couples in particular would always help you if they could.
I am an experienced exchanger having exchanged with people in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Florida as well as parts of Europe
This year 2021, I am only looking for exchanges in the UK, almost anywhere considered! If travel becomes easier I will be open to any offers except New Zealand and Australia, as I doubt if I will return.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our home is situated within walking distance of the small town of Nailsea near to Bristol. The town has 2 supermarkets and several nice pubs and restaurants. We are about 15 minutes from Bristol International Airport (taxi about £20) which is a hub for Ryanair and Easyjet as well as some national airlines. There is a reliable bus service into Bristol and a rail link to Bristol, Bath, Cardiff, Exeter, London etc.
Nailsea is ideally situated for exploring the West Country, Devon, Dorset and Somerset as well as South Wales and the Cotswolds.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
In Bristol there is plenty to see and do. It hosts several festival each year, The Harbourside Festival in July and the Balloon Fiesta in August. You can see the famous Clifton suspension bridge, the spectacular Avon Gorge, the SS Great Britain as well as several other museums, churches and places of interest. There are several National Trust places near here. Tyntesfield is literally just up the road. Within driving distance are Stonehenge, Roman Baths, Longleat, Bowood, Stourhead, Clevedon Court and many more. Nailsea is ideally situated to explore the West Country, Devon, Dorset as well as South Wales and the Cotswolds.
We are lucky to be able to enjoy amazing musicals, opera, ballet and other shows at The Hippodrome, concerts at the Colston Hall, and drama at the Theatre Royal (k/a The Old Vic) which is the oldest continuously operating theatre in the UK. Bath's Theatre Royal tends to specialise in Drama and comedy.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
I would consider children, but I have very few facilities for them.
I do have a high chair, stair gates, cot and some of the usual paraphernalia for a baby.
You would be welcome to use my car if you are coming from abroad, but I doubt if I would use yours.
The garden takes care of itself, unless there is a severe heatwave. (I wish!)
