Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

**WE'RE ARE FULLY BOOKED FOR 2021 NOW**

Downstairs we have a kitchen/diner with french windows that open out onto the patio and to a covered al fresco dining area. The kitchen has a dishwasher, Rangemaster oven with induction hob, fridge and freezer. Also downstairs is the living room with wood burner; conservatory/garden room; play room; utility room with washing machine; and downstairs toilet.

Upstairs:
- Master bedroom: large room, double bed, en-suite with a walk-in shower and TV.
- Bedroom 2: medium sized room, single cabin bed suitable for a child.
- Bedroom 3: smallest room, single bed. You need to walk through this bedroom to reach the fourth bedroom but we have put curtains up in the room to give privacy.
- Bedroom 4: large room with a double bed and en-suite toilet and electric shower, velux windows
- Family bathroom with shower over bath

The garden is a good size and well established with many plants, areas of interest, a pond (with fence) and beautiful tall trees to provide shade. We have a climbing equipment for children. The garden backs onto a field (with cows in the summer). We hear Tawny Owls in the evening, sometimes see a Barn Owl swoop over our garden at dusk and hear a Little Owl.

The house is well equipped for younger children with books and indoor and outdoor toys and games. We have a stairgate, bed guard, potty and loo seat available if required. Unfortunately we don't have any baby equipment anymore.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

We only moved to the house in Oct 2019 so we are new to the neighbourhood however we've met everyone in the vicinity and they are all very friendly. The village is quiet and very peaceful at night. The village has a small children's playground, tennis courts, basketball court and skate ramps. We have a newly opened village shop which is well stocked. A pizza van and fish and chip van visit the village once a week. The fish and chips are the best I've ever tasted! There are walks from the village onto the Somerset Levels and local small market towns of Somerton and Langport 5 minutes drive away with small supermarkets, bakeries, butchers and amenities.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

In the immediate vicinity there are local walks around the unique landscape of the Somerset Levels a huge area of wetland which was once covered by the sea. Mumps and mounds such as Glastonbury Tor and Burrow Mump rise up from the Levels to give magnificent far reaching views. These wetlands are important bird and wildlife habitats with a network of rivers and rhynes.

Locally you'll find cider farms, the willow craft centres, Muchelney Abbey, three National Trust properties close by, Glastonbury Abbey, the amazing Fleet Air Arm Museum where visitors experience the noise and drama of what its like on an air craft carrier, Haynes Motor Museum, Cadbury Castle and Yeovil Railway Centre to name a few.

Within about a 30 minute drive you can reach any of five different Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty: Quantock Hills, Blackdown Hills, Mendip Hills, Dorset, Cranborne Chase AONBs.
In an hour you can drive to Exmoor National Park, the Somerset coast (Watchet/Minehead/Weston-super-Mare), Dorset's Jurassic coast, Chesil Beach, Lyme Regis, West Bay, Weymouth and attractions such as Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole.

Our Preferences

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

We would just like you to enjoy our house and look after it as you would expect us to look after yours. We have a cat but she will be staying with relatives during a swap so you would not need to care for her. We mention it in case you have cat allergies.
