Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Our main flat has 2 bedrooms, one double and one with single bed, with a sofabed in the large open-plan kitchen/living area, so can sleep 5. From street level it is a basement flat accessed down a flight of 10-12 stairs but the living area has two floors below and overlooks the pier, beach & promenade. We also have a small 1 bedroom flat in the same block, which can accomodate 1 in the small bedroom and a further 2 on the sofabed in the open-plan living area. The smaller flat has a small patio area overlooking Cromer promenade, which is accessed down a flight of steps. Both flats have views of the sea, promenade and pier.

The flats are conveniently located in the town centre with supermarket, church, buses etc 2-minutes walk away and a pub and restaurant opposite our basement entrance. Cromer station is less than 10 minutes walk away with hourly train service to Norwich and Sheringham. Cromer is a safe, quiet family seaside town with very low crime rates and a good community spirit. A car is not necessary to enjoy a holiday in Cromer and we have spent several 6-week summer holidays using our car hardly at all. There is an annual large week-long carnival in and around Cromer mid-August.

There are plenty of safe walks along the beach or inland within 5 minutes of the flat and Cromer boasts a cinema, theatre and museum along with Felbrigg Hall (National Trust) 2-miles inland. It is possible to surf from the safe bathing beach when conditions are right, fish or 'catch crabs' from the pier and there are play-parks for children. Swimming and riding may be accessed by public transport or car as may many other holiday activities.

The county town of Norwich is easily accessible by public transport or car and Norfolk boasts many National Trust properties, country houses, tourist attractions etc too numerous to mention. The excellent Tourist Centre in the town can advise on most things and is very helpful.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

We enjoy a stroll around the pier and along the promenade but there are many other interesting walks in and around the town. The theatre on the pier boasts the only surviving 'end of pier' show in the country. The local cinema shows all of the latest films and the tourist information centre can advise on the many activities available nearby. All essential amenities are nearby with pub, restaurant, shops, museum and supermarket two minutes walk from the flat
