Mick is an Outreach Worker with Sight Scotland Veterans and Andrea most recently worked for M & S in one of their coffee shops.
We have house sat previously in Reading, caring for a lovely house and two pets - golden lab and cat; Maidenhead, caring for a house and Sprockerpoo (called Duke - who we adopted!) and London, thoroughly enjoying the experience, caring for a great house in East Sheen, two cats and a number of chickens. We have had lots of successful exchanges in the UK and a number abroad (USA and Belgium). We find house exchanges/sits an excellent and mutually beneficial partnership which can also cut down significantly on costs and is much more personable than staying in hotels or B & Bs.
As mentioned above, we have significant successful experiences of house exchanges and house sitting, are excellent homemakers, respectful of others property and belongings, trustworthy, hardworking and honest. We both love animals and are happy undertaking gardening tasks.
We may request additional members of the family join us on our exchanges if that is agreeable.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our house is a very comfortable Victorian town house on a quiet street close to the city centre and Rickerby park. We are 5 - 10 mins walk from the city centre and river/parkland.
We have two lounges, a kitchen with dining area & lounge/TV area, utility room with washing machine and tumble drier and ground floor shower room with toilet & wash hand basin. On the first floor are three double bedrooms, bathroom (with bath and separate shower) and separate WC. On the second floor there is a double bedroom and chill out room set up with TV for watching DVDs. We have a large range & variety of DVDs, plenty of books and a selection of board games. There is also access to Netflix and Amazon Prime. Outdoors we have a small front garden and to the rear a patio area with table and chairs. We are a couple of minutes from a large playing field and tennis court area with basketball hoops.
Carlisle has excellent amenities - shopping; cultural (cathedral, castle, Hadrian's Wall route, museum and art gallery); sports and recreation centres and facilities; golf courses; outdoor activities; parks; cinema; theatre; and an abundance of places to eat out.
We are ideally situated to easily explore The Lake District, Scottish Borders and Dumfries & Galloway, with Edinburgh, Newcastle and Glasgow all less than an hour and a half on the train.
In Autumn 2016, we adopted a Sprockerpoo (Duke) who is fantastic with other dogs and kids, doesn't shed hair and no problem at all. We will be looking to bring him with us on any house sits or exchanges in the UK.
We'll be happy to respond to all requests. We will take good care of your property as we know you will of ours.
