Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our home is on a 6 acre beautiful mountain finca in Andalucia.
Our home comprises a main house and an adjoining casita (small house). The main house has an open plan kitchen and sitting area, with a Norwegian log burner. French doors lead to a large terrace with beautiful views. Downstairs there are two bedrooms and a bathroom, not usually available to guests. Upstairs is a lovely large bedroom with double bed and ensuite as well as a sitting area and a terrace. There are beautiful mountain views from every window and both french doors. The adjoining casita has one main room with twin beds, two comfy leather armchairs, WIFI and a kitchen area. There is a terrace and a separate bathroom with large walk-in shower, washing machine etc. The casita is also ideal for guests. On the 6 acres there is a 12 metre swimming pool, a small wood, a flat meadow and mountainside.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our home is on our beautiful 6 acre finca. It is set on a wooded mountainside with a meadow. In the Spring there are carpets of wildflowers, whilst native evergreens give it a "green" appearance all year. From the terraces there are views both to the distant Med and sometimes even Africa. Across the valley to the east, the white Roman village of Casares sits on a cliff top, just 5 mins away in the car. Spanish are fond of saying "tranquilo pero cerca el pueblo" which translates as "tranquil but near the village". Migrating birds in spring and autumn, wild flowers (more than 200), butterflies and moths (over 950 species) delight naturalists. It is well placed for visits to Ronda, Sevilla, Granada and the Atlantic coastline at Tarifa and Bolonia. Donana is possible with overnight stay, as is Morocco. The latter can be done on a day trip but a longer visit is better! The coast with supermarkets is 20 mins away.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Mountain and river walks are nearby. Casares, a traditional Roman village has a local tourist office near our home. You can visit Ronda, Sevilla, Corodoba, Granada or even Morocco for the day. Tarifa an hour away has kite or windsurfing, boat trips to watch dolphins and whales or raptor watchpoints for birds migrating from Africa (often visible from our terrace). Bolonia, just beyond, is a beautiful beach, complete with the Roman remains of Baelo Claudia, a city of 2000 people. An interactive museum is free of charge to Eu residents or 1.5 to others! 50 plus golf courses, kayaking, horseriding, the Mediterranean sea, tennis courts, and ventas with 3 course menu del dia in beautiful locations, are all within 20 minutes drive. Up in the mountains are beautiful walks. Cueva de Pileta with stalagmites and cave paintings, is just over an hour away. One of Europe's 10 best train journeys goes to Benoajan for lunch at Cueva del Gato after a hike, or even to Granada.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Please check our exchange preferences below. We are happy to exchange on an exchange host basis when guests stay in the self-contained casita and we are here to help you have a wonderful holiday.. Simultaneous exchanges are also possible. If it is a simultaneous exchange then we seek petcare for our friendly, lovable Goldern Retriever.
We do not exchange during July and August when it is very hot and there is a possible fire risk.
We have done at least 13 exchanges very happily and look forward to more!
We hope to revisit Australia which we love or to arrange another exchange in South America.
Smoking is allowed outside on the terrace but not in the house or in either of our cars.
