We are a family of 5 - Stephen (66), Nicky (56), Oliver (26), Sarah (25) and Charlotte (19). Our middle child is working and our oldest and younger children are at University in Cape Town. Stephen is retired and an avid gardener. Nicky still works.
We like hiking, movies, reading, pottering in the garden and long Sunday lunches. We lived in Cape Town until Stephen retired and moved to Somerset West 6 months ago. We have 1 cat which would need 'looking after"
In terms of timing of exchanges, we are looking for European summer (July in the countryside / village) or if European winter (Dec - Jan) then ski-ing opportunities ideal.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We have a small but charming and very peaceful cottage right on the sea 30 minutes drive from our home. Very quiet and relaxing with remarkable views and sunsets. Good swimming in a natural pool in the sea.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
This is good position to explore the coastal towns South of Gordons Bay (Pringle Bay, Betties Bay and Hermanus)
A lovely drive to charming pretty village of Greyton (via Betties Bay) or you could drive via Villiersdorp and the Tierwaters Dam over the mountains to Franschoek - which is a really beautiful old (for South Africa) with excellent restaurants. And the drive is spectacular.
Close to Somerset West with its fantastic old winefarms - Vergelegen, Lourensford and Morgenster.
Close to Cape Town with everything that Cape Town has to offer (40 mins drive away - no public transport)
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Cottages are semi detached and close together. We are often the only people in our set of 4 cottages. That said, it is very important that guests are quiet and respectful and that the neighbours are not disturbed.
