Wir hatten eine wunderbare, entspannte Woche in Hessen. Ulrike und Frank haben ein ruhig gelegenes architektonisch besonderes Haus...aus jedem Winkel kann man in den Garten schauen. In der Umgebung lassen sich gut Radtouren und Wanderungen unternehmen. Vielen Dank für die Gastfreundschaft!

Liebe Ulrike, lieber Frank, wir haben uns in Eurem großen lichtdurchfluteten Designerhaus und dem großen Garten auf Anhieb wohl gefühlt. „Cool, wann dürfen wir hier wieder herkommen“ waren die begeisterten Worte unserer Kinder. Für uns als Familie mit 2 Kindern (11 und 14 Jahre) war es ein ideales Urlaubsquartier. Wir sind mit den Fahrrädern an der Fulda entlang geradelt (inkl. einer Fahrt mit der Fahrradgondel über die Fulda) und anschließend mit dem Zug zurück gefahren (kostenlose Fahrradmitnahme) und haben die Wasserspiele auf der Wilhelmshöhe bei Kassel bestaunt. Unsere anschließende Erfrischung im Freibad Wilhelmshöhe wurde mit Livemusik begleitet. Die Wartburg-Führung war beeindruckend - und unser Führer sehr lustig. Unsere Kinder haben sich nach den Tagesunternehmungen auf das Trampolin, die Tischtennisplatte und den Kater Moritz gefreut. Sie durften sogar die zahlreichen Goldfische füttern. Aufgrund des schönen Wetters sind die reichlich vorhandenen Gesellschaftsspiele für uns „zu kurz“ gekommen. Grüße und vielen lieben Dank an Deine Eltern, Ulrike – wir hatten uns sehr gut mit ihnen unterhalten. Für uns war dies der erste Haustausch - gerne wieder!

Sometimes the cat visited us We visited Rotenburg where we met a person who invited us to a party in the street. We visited Fulda, Kassel, Gotha, Weimar, Erfurt so beautiful, and all sorts of villages, museums, ecologic and industrial sites. We were very happy because people were very kind. Very good trip in your country. Thank you Friendly.

Ein super Haustausch aufs Land, ins schöne Fuldatal, ins Auenland Hessens. Fahrradtouren entlang der Fulda. Erkundungen von Fulda und Wartburg und Kaminfeuer im Haus. Das Haus ist mit Glas gebaut und man ist irgendwie immer im Grünen. Wir hatten eine tolle Woche, der Kontakt verlief immer prompt und alles war gut vorbereitet. So wünscht man sich das. Alles Gute weiterhin!

We had a really lovely stay in Ulrike and Franks home, a really nice part of Germany with lots to do. We really appreciated the special welcome that Ulrike left for us and for the children, which was nice after the journey. What was great was the open plan living space, which is completely different to our home. Fortunately we had reasonably nice weather which meant we could take advantage of the walks into Rotenburg and Bebra, which were along the river, and safe for the children and the dog. We drove up to the Rodenburg hotel as there are some great woods for walking up there too, and the hotel has a good indoor play for young children. We also made some trips to Kassel to see the Hercules Monument, which is set in stunning parkland. We took the train as the station is literally two minutes walk from the house and very efficient way of getting around. we also took the train to Fulda to visit the Cathedral which is beautiful and the childrens museum. We went to Wartburg which is the UNESCO world heritage site but took the car for this. We found Rotenburg a very pleasant place with friendly people, we especially liked the local bakery and the cafe Moritz in the stadtcentrum. Thank you for the exchange! Endless cycling routes (a dream for Belgians :-) ), a nice and well maintained 'Waldschwimmbad' less than 10 minutes from your house, and the Hainich Forest (+/- 70 kms), was what we liked the most. Say hello to your parents and thank them again for a very warm and friendly welcome!

Liebe Ulrike, Frank und Emily! Danke für die nette Einladung nach Rotenburg. Es war unser erster Haustausch und es hat echt Spaß gemacht. Die Gegend bei Ihnen ist sehr schön und Rotenburg selbst ein bezauberndes Fachwerkstädtchen. Wir haben tolle Ausflüge unternommen, waren u.a. auf der Wartburg in Eisenach. Der Ritt mit den Eseln (Moni und Liesel) war für die Kinder der Hit. Weiters haben wir das Fuldatal mit den Fahrrädern erkundet, waren im wunderschönen Weimar, bei den Herkules-Wasserspielen in Kassel, in Bad Hersfeld und in Fulda. In Ihrem Haus haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt und Ihre Eltern waren sehr hilfsbereit und nett. Thank you a very good exchange. We had a very nice time in hourse and in your erea. The warm welcome from your parents in the neighbours house was appreciated, and we loved your comfertable house. Our children enjoyed the animals (fishes, frog and chickens) and we had some very nice biking trips in the erea. The system with all the roads for biking all over the place is just fantastic! Dear Frank and Ulrike, We have had a very nice holiday in your modern, comfortable, spacious home. The area is fantastic, with all the timber framed buildings, and lovely rolling country-side. We have had some lovely walks with our dog, just outside your doorstep. The autumn colours were fantastic this week. There was a warm welcome from your parents, we immediately felt at home. Our children enjoyed the table tennis and the toys and games that were in the house. In the area we visited Fulda, Rotenburg, Eisenach and Melsungen, all lovely towns with many historic buildings. We also went to the tree climbing track in Rotenburg, the children really enjoyed that. There are plenty of things to see and do in the area, but there were not many tourists around.
