We are a family of five: my wife Nicole (45) is educational therapist, I am a teacher (54) We have three most wonderful children of 21 (Larissa), 19 (Dorian) and 18 (Jonathan) who know how to behave. We are considerate people and we will do our very best that you will find your home and your belongings are left in the same condition as we find them. We are non smokers and don’t have any pets! Our insurance covers everything that might go wrong.

Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Nice family home in beautiful surroundings in the "Nationalpark Eifel".
Marvelous scenery, terraces to east and west with fantastic views, beautiful historical village in a national park, old castles (5 km, with a small but very interesting museum), open-air swimming pool in the village, lake 15 km, small river, fields and hills with forests all around (best for hiking), rocks for climbing, flatscreen TV, bluray player, nintendo wii, ps4, about 50 km to Cologne and Aachen.
Our home (ground floor): modern kitchen, comfortable living room, one room with a couch you can make a double bed, a wc and a storage room.
Our home (upstairs): three bedrooms (all with double-bed), a big bathroom with a tube, wc, two bassins and a shower.
Cellar: a sleeping room with double bed, washing machine, dryer, another bathroom

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in a beautiful small village called Abenden in the "Nationalpark Eifel" in a climatic spa, that means we live where others holiday.
Although it is very rural, we don't have to abstain from anything. There are two restaurants and an open air swimming pool in our village and only in 5 km distance in Nideggen you find bakeries, cafes, an ice cream parlor, about 5 restaurants, doctors, a dentist, some supermakets and a beautiful historic center with an old castle.
Within 20 km also the cultur isn't missed out. There are indoor and ourdoor swimming pools, a cinema, shopping, a museum, concerts ans more.
If you want more you can go to Cologne, Aachen or Düsseldorf for all attractions of a big city like concerts, museums, theaters, musicals, shopping, zoo and leisure park.
Or you find special places like Monschau with a glassblowing factory, mustard mill, a track motor car, in summer the open air classics (famous all around) and a fantastic historic center.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
In the surroundings you find a lot of interesting places because the Rur-valley is a touristic area. There are the Rurlake (13 km: boattour, walking, swimming), rock climbing around here, Heimbach (7 km: historic centre, old castle, restaurants), Schmidt (15 km: small deer-park), monastery Mariawald (15 km), Kreuzau (12 km: Rurwelle-Wellness and indoor swimming pool), Phantasialand (big amusement park near Cologne).
The big cities of Cologne, Aachen and Düsseldorf offer all attractions of cosmopolitan cities: big shopping aereas, theaters, museums, cinemas, concerts. The cathedral of Cologne is one of the most famous cathedrals in the world! It is a most impressive building, a must have seen. The old town of Cologne along the Rhine is wonderful with all it's small restaurants, cafes and bars.
In the cathedral of Aachen are the bones of "Karl der Große", it's also an impressive cathadral, not quiet as big as the cathdral of Cologne, but also very interesting.
