We are a couple of newly retired Australians who have lived most of our working lives in central Paris, France. We have recently moved to the south of France, and set up our Paris apartment to be convenient for exchangers. As we no longer live there it is available for non simultaneous exchanges for most of the year, however it must be reserved in advance as we also book it out through Airbnb during the summer. We have family in Melbourne, Australia, so we look for an exchange there at least once a year in central Melbourne or eastern suburbs. We would be interested in meeting a Melbourne couple interested in regular exchanges with Paris and flexible with dates, as we are ourselves. As we have just retired we are looking to do a longer stay in Australia between February 2020 and February 2021.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
WE ARE INTERESTED IN EUROPEAN and AUSTRALIAN NON-SIMULTANEOUS EXCHANGES FOR 2023. Please note that we do not consider any exchanges for less than 1 week.
Our comfortable and well-equipped flat is a top floor walk-up (4th floor) in a 200 year old building, bright and sunny, looking out over a couple of trees from the living room. It has two bedrooms and comfortably sleeps 3. There is a largish bar-kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and dryer, as well as microwave and stove-oven etc. This opens onto the dining room where there is a baby grand piano as well as a table and chairs. There is also a living room with a comfortable convertible sofa, the main bedroom with a large double bed and a small bedroom with a single bed. A bathroom with shower, toilet and washbasin completes the flat.
The flat is located in the 5th arrondissement, the "Latin quarter", in a quiet and pretty pedestrian street. We are 50 meters from the Mouffetard street market, with heaps of charm. We are just a three minute walk from a metro stop, but much of Paris can be visited on foot from our place: the Pantheon, Notre-Dame, Cluny museum, the Mosque, the Jardin des Plantes with its 3 museums and the Luxembourg gardens, just to mention some. Our area abounds in restaurants and cafes and the nearest cinema is 2 mins from our front door- and I haven't mentioned the choice of bakeries! If you're hoping to see authentic Parisian life you will not be disappointed.

Setting
Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The neighbourhood is very central to many Paris attractions and the streets are some of the oldest in Paris. The street is pedestrian-only and leads to the winding, medieval Mouffetard street with its picturesque daily market and cafes and bakeries. Perfect for cafe-sitting and people watching.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our apartment it is a short walk to the Pantheon, the Cluny museum, the Curie museum, roman ruins of an arena (Arenes de Lutece), and the Jardins des Plantes (Botanic gardens). In 15 minutes you can walk to the Luxembourg gardens or the Notre Dame cathedral. The Louvre is a 30 minute walk or a few stops on the metro.
Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Our house is not suitable for small children as there is an unprotected staircase leading from the door to the living room. It is also probably not suitable for very tall people as the roof in the master bedroom is sloping (see photos).
All the appliances and most of the kitchen equipment is of good quality, and naturally, we ask our guest to be careful with them, to read the instructions for use, and to leave the apartment clean and tidy.
