We’re a family of four. I’m a translator and Anna teaches history in high school. Adèle is 9 years old and Anouk is 6 years old. Though we’re still quite new here, we’re used to home exchanges thanks to our respective parents, having exchanged houses with England, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Canada, California, Guatemala... We’re keen travellers who visited many places around the world as a couple (Japan, New York and Montreal, Portugal, Germany, Belgium, the Netherland, England, Spain and Italy) and as a family (Germany, England, Portugal, Spain and Denmark), always enjoying the experience of a new culture and we look forward to exchanging our beloved house to further enjoy that experience.

With a great bakery on the doorstep, many different cultural gastronomic offerings in Angers, and having several world class vineyards nearby, this is a destination for food and wine lovers. We also really loved feeding your chickens and collecting the eggs too. We ventured to Noirmoutier en Lile for a few days, which was a beautiful experience. Thank you to Guillaume, Anna, Adele and Anouk for sharing your home with us - one of our best exchanges to date.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
The neighbourhood is quiet, but you’ll find everything you need in close vicinity: 2 supermarkets, 3 bakeries (one of the most renowned in town being 300m from the house), 2 butcher’s, cafés and restaurants. Not far (1km), you’ll also find the Parc des Ardoisières, a former slate quarry converted in a landscaped park, ideal for walking, cycling or running. Also, the house in on the side of town that gives quite a direct access to “La Levée”, the small road that meanders along the Loire river toward Saumur and Tours.
Angers is a town rich in history and culture, with its huge medieval castle that hosts the Tapisserie de l’apocalypse, its elegant limestone and authentic half-timbered houses, its numerous museums, among which the Musée des Beaux-Arts (museum of fine arts), in a gorgeous 15th century building, the Musée Jean Lurçat dedicated to the tapestry artist, with its phenomenal work, “Le Chant du monde”, both museums having special activities for children, and the Musée David d’Angers, among others.
Angers is a lively though easy-going town, with lots of space and greenery. Moving around is simple and you can get pretty anywhere by bike, bus or tramway (there are 5 bus lines in the close vicinity of the house). You’ll also find a lot of parks and playgrounds all around the town. Angers boasts many cafés, pubs and “bars à vin” (wine bars), and a myriad of renowned restaurants (the region, Anjou, is well-known for the quality of its wine and gastronomy). And of course, Angers is in the heart of the Loire Valley, with all its wonderful castles and vineyards (most of which offers visit with tasting), along with cinemas, theatres and concert venues.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We have a cat to take care of, but he's independant and can stay outside, especially in summer (will only need to be fed).
Apart from that, we're confident you'll treat our beloved house as your own.
