Our stay at the villa "Nespereira" was a delight. This comfortable home is nested in a peaceful environment with a beautiful view on the hills away. There is a nice basin for refresh and the gorgeous beaches on the Atlantic Ocean are few kilometers away. You can enjoy the seaside but the mountain side also with many opportunities for walking.I could meet Anne and Mark for a tea time in Paris several weeks before leaving and it was easy to communicate with them. Thank you so much for having welcomed us in your little paradise!

Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

In Portugal, we have 2 houses on a big plot (14 ha= 14 000 m2). The other house is rented, but the houses are far from each other. You go there for the nature, the sea, the swimming pool, the sunny weather, the stars in a sky without artificial lights, the beautiful villages, the walks and the friendly people. The house is modern and comfortable. There is internet. We have some friendly goats, you can get in touch with them, but you don't have to care for them. A neighbour takes care of it.
All shops and supermarket in the small town of São Teotónio (4 km) .15 km from the beaches, silence, nature. Not available for exchange in July/August .

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

The house "Nespereira" is 500m from Casa Nova da Cruz, a hamlet with about 10 houses and 2 cafes. The possibilities for hiking are endless. The site is a 10 min drive from the coast with coves and sandy beaches. Shopping is a 10-minute drive away in SãoTeotonio. There you will find local shops, supermarkets, pharmacies, etc.
South Alentejo is a rural region with beautiful wide undulating landscapes with the typical cork oaks. It is a hidden gem which fortunately has not yet been discovered by mass tourism. The possibilities for hiking are endless. Also in São Teotónio there is a large market with local products every first Monday of the month.

Lot of nice restaurants (fish, wine, cheese, ham.. )and cafes (addresses in our house); interesting sites to visit at a distance of maximum 100 km : several historical towns, fantastic beaches (surf, diving...), Santa Clara's lake (sailing), walks and marked hiking trails (rota vicentina), nice people.
