Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Our beach property is in a secluded cove in the beautiful island of Palawan, 40' from El Nido. It has 50 meters of direct beachfront and full access to all the cove. The property includes:
- A main house, with an open living area and two large private bedrooms, just 20 meters from the sea, a bit up the hill
- A standalone smaller 'house' further up the hill, comprising a bedroom and sun deck, with a scenic view on the whole bay
- A bamboo house directly on the beach itself
It has been build entirely in sustainable materials, and effectively everything is in wood and bamboo (outside the foundations and bathroom). It is designed for simple, comfortable living in nature: natural light, very open, no aircon, no TV, no luxury. The bathroom is simple and the shower uses fresh source water. This is not for people seeking to replicate western comfort, but it's actually a very comfortable living.

We have a full time caretaker who helps with grocery, cooking, laundry and maintenance. She is a fantastic cook and we find fresh ingredients and fish in the market. She can arrange anything, including excusions and rides. We can also let our small Banka (boat) to go fishing or navigate the Daracoton bay for snorkling, fishing or beaches hoping.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home

This is a perfect area for snorkling, island hoping and fishing. It is also possible to do kite-surfing or scuba-diving nearby (less than 20' away). Northern Palawan also has amazing lan landscapes including rice fields, jungle train, rivers and waterfalls.
El Nido town has a lot of cafes and restaurants, and more areas around it are being developed - including Lio beach, etc.

Our Preferences

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules

It is a second home as we live in Manila. We are therefore are open to both simultaneous and non-simultaneous exchange. Families with children are welcomed, although I don't think it is very suitable for very young children (below 4 yo). Smoking is okay outside the house but please don't throw cigarette butts.
We have a caretaker who arrange grocery, cooking, laundry, cleaning, boat rides, etc. Everything to be paid 'at cost', ie extremely affordable.
We turn on electricity from dawn to around 10-11pm every day (shared with our friends and neighbours). You typically won't need more but arranging a generator can be explored.
This is a simple, all wood/bamboo, property that requires a different approach to holiday comfort --> We need to talk to ensure that this is or you
