Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Ruurlo is a pretty village in the eastern province of the Netherlands, called "de Achterhoek". This part of the Netherlands is famous for its unspoiled nature, its traditions, its many hiking- and bikingtrails (hundreds of kilometers). There also are many castles to visit in the neighbourhood, Ruurlo itself has a castle from 1300, now used as a museum.
Zutphen, 20 km away from us is a scenic old city on the river Yssel. Also very interesting is a visit to Germany, just ( around the corner ).

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our house it is a short walk to shops, restaurants, supermarkets and pubs. Ruurlo has the largest labyrinth of Europe, nice to visit. There are several museums in Ruurlo and in the neighbourhood. We have golfcourts in the surroundings, but most of all in this area is very pleasant to use the hiking- and bikingtrails.
