We are Bryant and Christine, are retired and live on a small "lifestyle" block near Palmerston North. We have a holiday home at Pukawa (Lake Taupo) which is our preferred exchange house. We enjoy travelling, experiencing new cultures and meeting people . We usually travel as a couple but occasionally (if their work commitments allow) we travel with our adult children, Caleb and Samara (born 1993 & 1991 respectively), sometimes they exchange on their own.
We have completed over 30 exchanges (non-simultaneous or hospitality) and have made many life-long friends!

Access to the house was rather daunting, we got used to it. Recommend back packs to cart the provisions. Thank you for sharing this part of NZ with us. Do hope we meet again. Kay and vern

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
MEMBERS SINCE 2011
Our house is a comfortable family home in a semi-rural area close to Palmerston North. Our house has 3 bedrooms (one with an ensuite), 1 large rumpus/bedroom, 2 bathrooms, modern kitchen, lounge and dining area and a study room. We have a large garden to enjoy. We also have 3 acres of paddock with hens, ducks and friendly sheep. We also have an older cat - cat feeding may be required.
Our car may be available for you to use if you need it. It is a 5 minute drive to Palmerston North with it's restaurants, supermarkets, swimming pool, Massey University, banks and shops.
Palmerston North is very central to most parts of the southern North Island including Wellington, Hawkes Bay and even Taupo. There is so much to see and do here!
There are beaches 20 minutes drive away and the main North Island ski fields are 3 hours drive away.
See http://www.palmy.net.nz/aboutpn/
Use of our holiday house at Pukawa, Lake Taupo is also possible.
All offers seriously considered. Make us an offer!

This link shows many of the activities in the wider area - http://www.doc.govt.nz/parks-and-recreation/places-to-go/manawatu-whanganui/ - tramps, walks, rafting etc
