Description of the home we are offering for exchange
A comfortable home in the hills above the town of Thames. Very rural outlook, very quiet but close to all amenities. The house is on a private road and looks straight onto the Coromandel forest park. You can walk into the wilderness and go right over to the Pacific coast but it will take you 8 hours. There are lovely beaches 10 minutes away, hot thermal pools, the Hauraki rail trail, fishing, sailing etc. We are 1 1/2 hours from Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga with lots to do in all these cities. Easy driving too.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our neighbourhood is very quiet and rural. It is a friendly town. There are lots of outdoor activities, 3 museums which are linked to Thame's past as a mining town. There is still lots of gold here and you can pan for it. We even have a Carnegie Hall which is a historical records museum funded by Carnegie Hall in New York.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We have got an exchange for Christmas 2016 / January 2017 but would be open to one the following year. We have always left our house as is and have always found it lovely when we have returned. There are two vehicles. A Hiace van and a Mazda 6 car. The van is good to put the bikes in and go down to the rail trail, although you can get on the trail from the house.
