Our Home For Exchange

Description of the home we are offering for exchange

Kia Ora from New Zealand,
We would like to arrange a non-simultaneous exchange with our holiday house in the beautiful Golden Bay - 'The Heart of the Parks' at the North West tip of the South Island. Our holiday home is situated on the edge of Ligar bay lagoon, which provides perfect kayaking, paddleboarding and swimming conditions when full (available for your use). Ligar bay beach, and Tata Beach are both 5 minutes walk away, wash the sand off at the end of the day in the out door shower.

Abel Tasman & Kahurangi National Parks are in close proximity offering fantastic bush walks, swimming beaches & rivers. The area also showcases a wide variety of Arts & Crafts. The township of Takaka is 15 minutes away & Nelson City 2 hours drive. The people of the region represent the crossing of the cultures with many German, Dutch and English people visiting whom find it hard to leave. The demographics cover the extent from people who seek alternative life styles to New Zealands traditional farmers. There are many great unique cafes and restaurants for those who like to eat out in nearby Seaside village of Pohara and the Takaka Township. Seafood gathering is plentiful with mussels, pipis, oysters, and clams easily obtained in the Ligar Bay Lagoon.

Neighbourhood

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area

Seaside, semi rural relaxed holiday area with good summer and winter climates. Being located between Kaharangi and Abel Tasman National Parks the area is a wonderful place to enjoy the natural resources from the land to the sea. Historically interesting with remnants of past goldmining days. Nearby township of Takaka has a great cultural diversity with many alternative and unique influences in food and art. The area is attractive to people from many countries who want to break out of the norm and experience a different, more self-resourced and sustainable lifestyle in many ways.
