My partner and I enjoy adventures, particularly long-distance walking, and cycle touring. Andrew is a landscape architect and artist, and I am a town planner. We love food and art, and meeting interesting people. I speak some French, and have cycled in France. We are only looking for exchanges in France in early 2020, at this stage. We hope to cycle on the Atlantic coast, and do some hiking in the Pyrenees.

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
A lovely small stand alone townhouse, on the river and with easy walking access to parks and walking tracks. It is about the size of an apartment, but with the benefit of the patio and garden.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
A wonderful location with a supermarket and weekly farmers market within 5 minutes walk. Because it is by the river, people use the area for running, cycling, walking the dogs. There are a lot of green spaces and parks in the area, and it is an easy bike or bus ride to the centre of town.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
A kayak on the river (single kayak supplied) is a lovely way to see the local area. It is also close to the Port Hills, a popular walking and mountain biking destination. The City Centre is 15 minutes away by bike - it is full of lovely new buildings, following an earthquake in 2011. It makes Christchurch a very interesting place, in addition to the usual attractions of a small city. It is also a great place to base yourself for exploring the South Island.

The kitchen is new, so it is important that this area is well looked after. The house is small, but children are welcome. It will comfortably fit two adults and a child. You can also use the fold down bed in the lounge for extra guests, but this probably isn't workable for a longer stay.
