We are Peter and Nida Joyce, recently retired aviation English tester and teacher, respectively. We are quiet-living people, not given to entertaining or even pursuing "bucket list" adventures - except for home exchanges, of course. Our house is an empty nest, as our only son left home some years ago.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our street is quiet and it's close to peaceful Broadgreen Park and its adjacent historic house and Samuel's rose garden. We're only a ten-minute walk from Stoke, including beautiful Isel Park, which offers summer activities such as outdoor movies, a market and concerts. Stoke also has plenty of shops: two supermarkets, hairdressers, a very good fruit and vege shop and many others. If you're a tennis player, you can even take out temporary membership at the Stoke Tennis club, which adjoins the brand new community centre. From Stoke it's easy to get the bus into Nelson City, which is a twenty-minute ride. You can cycle it in about the same time, using Nelson's excellent cycleways. If you drive, it's only about ten minutes. Tahunanui Beach is even closer - about ten minutes by bus. It's a beautiful, safe and clean beach, an understandably popular attraction in the summer months.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
We are new to Homelink, having done just one exchange. We are open to proposals from anywhere in the world, and would prefer to be away from two weeks to about a month. We are also keen to do short exchanges within New Zealand. If any are in the South Island, a car exchange of course wouldn't be necessary.
