We are a family of two, Rob and Christ'l. Our daughter Nina (23) is a student in Wageningen. We have worked and lived for a period of 7 years in as well Düsseldorf, Germany as in NYC. We are experienced home 'exchangers' but renewed our membership, since we have moved into a new spacious Apartment in 2015. We are in 2023 interested swaps in Europe and we prefer to travel by train. Description of the home we are offering for exchange
The apartment is 150 m2 and is perfect for a couple or small family (of 3) to stay in. With two large balconies of 14 m2 it is perfect to sit in the sun and enjoy the stunning views overlooking Amsterdam on the 7th floor
The apartment consists of 2 bedrooms, 1 (small) bathroom, a large kitchen, spacious dining room and livingroom (separated since 2022) both with balcony.
Furthermore, there is an indoor parking place and a 'private' elevator available to reach the apartment on the 7th floor. It is also possible to use our bikes, which are most convenient to get around in Amsterdam.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our apartment is located in the former Woodport near the IJ-river and is a luxury new neighborhood near the city center. It is a 5 minutes walk to Spaarndammerstraat with 15 cafés and restaurants to choose from, 10 minutes to the price winning shopping-street Haarlemmerstraat and the famous Jordaan. Furthermore, the Westerpark is a 5 min walk, which is nice for watching movies, several terraces and cocktailbars or a lazy stroll in the summer. Central station is a 10 minute bike-ride. With the use of our (3) bicycles or the convenient public transport you are in no time at all the touristic attractions such as museums, the canals, the famous areas the Pijp and also some more quieter areas such as the parks.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
From our house, it is a short walk to cafes and restaurants such as Bar Mick and Bagels & Beans in the Spaarndammerstraat. Which are perfect for a beer or wine, a quick meal or a bagel. A bit further is the Haarlemmerstraat, where you can find a variety of creative shops and cafes, as well as a local movie theater (The Movies).
Every Saturday and Monday morning there is the bio-Noordermarkt, which is a local market where fruit, vegetables, clothes and authentic stuff is sold. It has a authentic and chill vibe.
The city center is not far from our house either. Although, this is a bit overcrowded sometimes in summer, there are some nice attractions such as world famous museums, the Kalverstraat (large shopping street) and the Vondelpark (large famous parc, good for a stroll).
