We love life and travel. We will never retire but often take our work with us and pace ourselves! Our home is beautiful and we welcome visitors and exchangers. Our state is steeped in wonderful history and we love to share it!! Our children, grand children and the greats are scattered and we love to see them also! Many times we like to include our grown children in an exchange Half of our life is spent in La Paz-Los Cabos attending business and enjoying kayaking on the sea of Cortez. .

Description of the home we are offering for exchange
HomeLinker since 2005
This amazing home was once weekend spot for Mexican President Lazaro Cardenas. It is in the center of Uruapan, heartland of the Purepecha indigenous peoples. We can do simultaneous or non. We can also do hospitality exchanges. The 450 year old home has been updated.
Home in a SAFE zone in Uruapan and in Mexico.
We are flexible with dates.
The casa is a real treasure and great care has been taken to maintain its architectural authenticity and legacy. In the living room are two grand pianos and an eclectic collection of CD's We have a plasma type tv in the music room with many videos. Also modern large screen cable television. Kitchen is modern but with Indigenous style. The dining hall is impressive and the two patios are spacious and with many plants.
On a table outside the dining hall, you will see a manual to help you enjoy our home and the surrounding area. Also a 3-ring binder showing the many attractions worth your time.
Large CD collection, 2 grand pianos (1 is antique Steinway circa 1810) 2 a television set, with cable; sit and enjoy the large central patio and WiFi in office like setting and also on the main patio.
A binder on the table outside the dining hall contains a list of tourist sites and other information.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We are in the center of this sixteenth century city. One block from the main square and five blocks form the large Parque Nacional and the \lineal park as well.. Since we are in the center it is possible to walk to many attractions and shopping.

You can walk everywhere. We are in the down town and only use our car, once a week to go to the super market. (Or to visit Morelia or one of the small villages.)
Our home is in the Centro Historico of Uruapan, Michoacan, a SAFE CITY in Mexico. A short walk to the Huatepera, the first hospital in the new world for Indigenas people and also to the Casa de la Cultura, Uruapan's oldest building.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Access options- From Mexico City, Guadalajara OR it is a three hour drive from Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo. Some stay there for a day or two, to enjoy the pristine beaches and then an easy drive here.
We are half way between Guadalajara (home to the Mariachi is and the Silicon Valley of Mexico Nearby is the city of Tequila.) and Mexico City. Nearby Patzcuaro and other, interesting and picturesque, Pueblos. Not too long a drive from Morelia the state Capital. Home of the first music conservatory in the Americas.
