Our Home For Exchange
Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our cottage is new this year. It is comfortable and very well equipped. There is a full-size stove, a washing machine, a queen-sized bed and is ideal for a couple. It is located on our 7 acre property 250 yards from and out of sight of the main house. It is near the apple orchard, plum trees and beside the tennis court, which is available for use. It is a 3 minute walk to a large, tranquil lake with beaches and fine footpaths.
Our cottage is rural living in spectacular surroundings but close to many amenities. It also has HD TV, cable, Internet, wifi, Netflix and Amazon Prime.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Our cottage is rural living in spectacular surroundings but close to many amenities. In our immediate neighborhood there are other walking and cycling trails, wineries, golf courses and horseback riding. Victoria has many attractions for tourists including its historic harbour, numerous restaurants, music, theater, museums, boating and whale-watching.
Within a short driving distance there lies the open Pacific Ocean with spectacular coastal and mountain scenery.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Our property is a 10 minute drive to shopping centers, 15 minutes to the international airport, 20 minutes to the ferry terminals to the mainland (Vancouver) and to the USA, 20 minutes to the center of Victoria. It is easy to park at the ferry terminal, walk on the ferry and take public transit into Vancouver for a day trip, returning that same day.

Our home exchange - here are our Preferences and House Rules
Our cottage is small in floor area but very efficient. We have said below that children are welcome but exchangers should know that the steps to the upstairs are quite steep. A child of, say, more that 6 years old would have no trouble climbing up. There would only be room for one child and they would be sleeping on a camp bed etc.
We have specified that we can make a car available because it enhances the enjoyment of our particular location. We would not necessarily require a car if we exchanged into a large European city center location with good public transit. It all depends on the local circumstances.
