Description of the home we are offering for exchange
Our "west coast contemporary" home is located in Ten Mile Point, a semi urban neighbourhood located 8.5 km from downtown Victoria. Our one level home is east facing on a high rock outcrop to enjoy the morning sun. The location of our home provides unobstructed views out across the Pacific's Haro Strait with Canada's Gulf Islands to the north east. Straight ahead of you is America's beautiful San Juan Island. Beyond San Juan Island lies the snow capped mountains of Washington State. Hence the name of our street - Mount Baker View Road.
The main floor includes two bedrooms and bathrooms, very spacious rooms with vaulted cedar ceilings, the living room with a gas fireplace, a separate dining room, a sun room and a large, well-equipped kitchen with all the "mod cons". The rear deck with gas bbq overlooks a large fenced private garden.
The front deck eating area is a perfect spot to watch the sunrise, the fish boats, power and sailing yachts as well as freighters, cruise and container ships sailing past on their way to and from Vancouver and other west coast ports of call.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
Ten Mile Point
The local area known as Ten Mile Point is a very safe area of quiet luxury with ocean on 3 sides. We are within a short distance of the University of Victoria, The Royal Victoria Yacht Club and the soft sand and safe swimming beach of Cadboro Bay. The village at Cadboro Bay has an excellent supermarket, drugstore, pub, liquor store, gas station, and two restaurants. In keeping with "west coast living" our village has both a local coffee house and Starbucks. Birds and wildlife abound in this area and you will see deer, raccoons, bald eagles, stellar jays, hawks, and herons. Humming birds will entertain you at the feeder on the deck. You can see and hear otters, seals, sea lions and pods of killer whales.
