Description of the home we are offering for exchange
We are open to suggestions and are flexible in terms of where and when.
We have a modern, single story home bordered by trees and garden. The setting is quiet and there's a very friendly, interesting local community. It's only a 4 minute walk to the accessible coastline - views, beaches, islands, birds, seals, kayaks and ships/boats galore. Downtown Victoria is less than 10 minutes by car, and a near-by bus stop allows connections with various parts of the city. The historic core and the attractive popular harbour invite exploratory walks and provide great photo opportunities. The nearby urban village of Oak Bay has a variety of interesting shops, pubs, restaurants, antiques, art galleries, & marina. The southern part of Vancouver Island has great rural drives to wineries, farms, craft studios, and there are many wonderful forest and coastal trails. Year-round activities include golfing, cycling, birding & hiking; in the summer - whale watching, fishing and various cultural festivals.

Description of our neighbourhood and surrounding area
We live in a secluded, friendly neighbourhood called Harling Point, a small penninsula accessed by a single road. It is a four minute walk to the shoreline with access to two beaches as well as rocks great for climbing. Ships, seals and birds abound. Views of the Olympic Mountains in the USA can be seen from the house. Downtown Victoria is seven minutes away by car. The urban village of Oak Bay is 10 minutes from our front door - it has restaurants, art galleries, boutique shopping and a nearby marina has excellent fine dining.

Our home exchange - places to go and things to do while staying in our home
Victoria is built around a splendid harbour where yachts, seaplanes and ferries can be seen in all seaons. Short drives lead to hiking trails, golf courses, farms, and ferries to Gulf Islands. Craft fairs and music festivals occur throughout the summer and autumn.
